Metal Rubber(MR)has excellent properties due to its dual properties of metal and rubber in high temperature and high-pressure environments.Therefore,its application in the field of sealing can help solve the sealing problem under severe conditions.Due to the nonlinear and anisotropic characteristics of the metal rubber material,the mechanism of its function as a core of the seal to enhance the sealing performance needs further study,and metal rubber made of different metal wire materials is used for special sealing environment,but the influence of wire properties on the performance of metal rubber materials is not clear.Therefore,for the metal rubber seals,the theoretical mechanism and experimental study on the action mechanism of the MR elastomer in the seal and the influence of the wire properties on the properties of the metal rubber were carried out in this paper.Firstly,according to the requirements of the sealing conditions,four kinds of wire were selected as the research object to analyze the influence of the properties on the mechanical properties of the metal rubber.The static test of the metal rubber samples of the four wires was completed,and the mechanical properties were compared.The pin plate friction test,wire tensile test and spiral roll tensile test of four materials were completed.The influence of different wire properties on the mechanical properties of metal rubber was analyzed.The distribution of the indirect contact of the spiral wound in the metal rubber was studied by three-dimensional X-ray microscopy.The influence of the mechanical properties of the wire on the spiral stiffness and the influence of the load on the friction characteristics of the material were analyzed.Based on the normal distribution function,a mathematical model describing the influence of the mechanical properties of the metal rubber containing the properties of the wire was established.On the basis of studying the influence of the mechanical properties of the wire on the spiral winding stiffness and the influence of the load on the friction characteristics of the material,the above mathematical model was used to describe the influence of the mechanical properties of the wire on the mechanical properties of the metal rubber material.And the test results were substituted into the model to validate the results of the modeling study.Secondly,according to the contact characteristics of metal rubber seals,the finite element contact model of metal rubber seals,metal C-rings and metal O-rings was established by ABAQUS.The variation of contact performance at different compression ratios was analyzed by simulation results.The distribution of contact stress of three different types of seals was compared.The influence of the inner core of metal rubber on the plastic deformation and contact state of the seal during the deformation process was analyzed.The mechanism of action of MR elastomer in the working process of the seal was clarified.Finally,the metal rubber sealing system with different structural parameters was simulated and analyzed.The mechanical properties of different wire metal rubbers were described by means of neural network material modeling method.The sealing of four wire materials was simulated under different working conditions.The contact state and plastic deformation were analyzed and the influence of wire properties on the contact performance of metal rubber seals was clarified.Four kinds of metal rubber seals of different wire materials were prepared and tested for static mechanical properties.The leakage tests of different wire materials were carried out under different working conditions,and the leakage rate was obtained.
