Research On The Plane Pattern Of Traditional Residential Buildings In The Coastal Areas Of Southern Fujian

The courtyard layout of traditional dwellings in southern Fujian is influenced by the natural and human environment such as geographical environment,climate,population and culture,forming a distinct local style.As a common residential mode in this area,it shows a comprehensive consideration of many aspects such as residential environment,construction land,space combination,construction rules,ethical order and so on,creating a good residential environment with a high climate adaptability in a diversified plane pattern.Since modern times,many scholars have studied the layout of traditional dwellings in southern Fujian,but the results of systematic research are still few,lacking of objective reflection in the diversity of layout,the rationality of spatial scale,and the differences among the three places in southern Fujian.In addition,influenced by the modern architectural trend of thought,to a certain extent,it destroys the stability of its inheritance,and it is difficult to provide effective guidance for the renovation design and construction of traditional dwellings in southern Fujian.Therefore,it is urgent to systematically study the plane pattern of traditional dwellings in southern Fujian.By investigating the residential buildings of cultural relics protection units and traditional villages at all levels in the coastal areas of southern Fujian,following up the relevant protection and renovation projects on the spot,combining with field surveys and interviews with craftsmen,and using interdisciplinary research methods such as architecture,typology and statistics,this paper studies the layout types and characteristics,functional space and living environment,spatial scale law and plane of traditional residential buildings in southern Fujian.Four aspects of construction are studied,including rationality of layout,diversity of combination and suitability of residential environment.The differences and causes of formation among Quanzhou,Xiamen and Zhangzhou are further discussed.In order to provide reference for the future regional architectural design,heritage protection and repair work in southern Fujian.
