At the moment when globalization and China's urbanization process are developing rapidly,the urban elements are diversified and the development model is changing with each passing day,at the same time the study of urban spatial structure has increasingly become the focus of planning.Employment,as the core component of a city,is often closely related to the economic,industrial,social and demographic development of the city.As the core city of the central region & significant node in The Belt and Road Initiative,doing empirical research on employment space and employment centers based on Wuhan Urban Development Zone can more intuitively understand the spatial distribution characteristics of the city from a practical perspective and face the problems of urban development directly.Therefore,based on the data of the Third Economic Census of Wuhan,this paper analyses the characteristics and spatial distribution of employment space of different industrial categories in Wuhan Metropolitan Development Zone and explores the identification thresholds and quantitative measures of employment centers.This paper is divided into three parts.Part one calculates the employment density and enterprise density of different industrial groups in Wuhan Metropolitan Development Zone by means of quantitative research and nuclear density analysis of GIS.It is concluded that the employment space in Wuhan Metropolitan Development Zone presents a multi-center spreading structure with main city agglomeration and distinct hierarchy.Part two uses the mathematical statistics and multidisciplinary analogy method to measure the employment density and concentration of employment space.This section divides the identification of the employment centers into two phases and four steps,in which the spatial autocorrelation analysis is used to judge whether the research object has spatial agglomeration.If it exists,the high value clustering point and its geographical location are obtained.Then it uses regression residual analysis and threshold method to identify employment centers,and classifies each employment center to obtain employment center system.Through this method,a total of 22 employment centers in Wuhan Metropolitan Development Zone are identified,which can be divided into three levels.From the perspectives of scale,function type and spatial characteristics,part three carries out the spatial analysis of different modes by means of standard deviation ellipse and buffer construction,and the characteristics of the employment center are studied and summarized.It is concluded that the employment center of Wuhan Urban Development Zone is at the beginning of the multi-center structure of high concentration in the central city.The spatial distribution pattern structure characteristics of the core + equalization circle layer,and at the same time obtain the problems of its existence and propose corresponding solutions.This paper applies GIS and other measurement methods to the identification,analysis and judgment of employment space and employment center,enriches the research methods of employment center identification,contributes to the analysis of the multicentric development of big cities,and provides a reference for better understanding the changes of employment pattern and Employment Spatial pattern.
