The Home Fire Emergency Self-rescue Product Design Based On Empathic Design

When a fire breaks out,the lack of basic emergency self-rescue skills will lead to heavy property losses and casualties.In order to solve this phenomenon,this paper combines theoretical research and practical design,immerses into different situations of life scenes and family fires through the perspective of empathy,and explores the needs of ordinary families for emergency self-rescue products.This paper designs a practical fire extinguisher which is suitable for the use of household residents.In theoretical research,this paper first reviews relevant literature on empathic design theory,and summarizes the tools and methods into three aspects: observation level,interaction level and experience level.Then,according to the research on the current situation of home fire emergency self-rescue products,we summarizes the human(fire behavior,psychology)-machine(fire extinguisher overview)-environment(home fire overview).The design and research framework of fire extinguisher is summarized based on the empathic design theory system.In the aspect of practical research,the user needs are firstly obtained through empathic design,including pre-research and situational experiment.In order to obtain the cognition,attitude and expectation of users when using fire extinguishers,empathy methods including interview method,focus group method and observation method were used.In order to obtain the behavior and attitude information of users in the experience of special situation,the empathy method used includes situational performance,interview method,empathy observation and situational experience map.Secondly,demand is summarized according to the results of literature review,pre-research and situational experiments.Thirdly,transform the function and appearance of the fire extinguisher according to the requirements,and design according to the product rules.Finally,the final design scheme of the fire extinguisher is determined by recruiting target users to evaluate and optimize the scheme.
