| The construction industry in Peru has been evolving throughout the years and the competitiveness between companies has grown exponentially with factors such as Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR)being a main key for decision making.The construction management quality in Peru has not been the best or good enough comparing to other developing countries.This is why there is a need for international construction companies to enter the Peruvian market and give another perspective to the current management.Chinese International Construction Companies(CICCs)are becoming a dominant competitor in different countries,even in some Latin American countries,however,they still have not entered the Peruvian market as strong as with other countries.This paper issues the different ways the CSR is managed in China and in Peru by comparing two companies from each of the selected countries,four in total,according to the ISO 26000 international standards.The data collected was taken from interviews with the four companies selected and interviews with professors Tsinghua University in China and The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru,as well as information from literature review.Adding a SWOT analysis as the final analysis and comparison,this research will give an overview of how a CICC should plan their methods for dealing in a project in Peru.The results obtained in this research showed that the main factors that CICCs have to take into consideration when dealing with projects in Peru are the following: development of stakeholders,public policies and regulations,information,education,rules and guides,and incentives.This research will serve as a guide for CCICs entering the Peruvian construction market by giving recommendations for policy and implementation regarding CSR and key points for the management of the projects. |
