The full speed of modernism has made China's cities look like ever-changing.As a public cultural building familiar to people, the museum's functional role in urban life is also changing. It is transformed from an old-fashioned display place into an open and inclusive social place of cultural life, and has a transition to a cultural complex. The trend is gradually integrated into the daily life of the public. The design of museums in our country has also undergone new attempts with the transformation of museum functions.Whether it is the addition of new functional space or the introduction of humanized design, under the influence of the inertia of design thinking and functionalism, the design of museum buildings still focuses on the functional space. The non-functional space design of the museum seems to be one.A design that is "supplementary" and "remaining" in nature. The audience's experience in the museum is not only the appreciation of the exhibits, but also the space environment of the museum building. The space experience includes not only the functional space of the museum, but also the exhibition space. The non-functional space of the museum is displayed by the audience. The process is also an important part of its spatial experience. With the transformation of the functions of the museum and the purpose of the audience, the non-functional space gradually assumes a variety of functions including leisure socialization. However, the non-functional space of some museums in China cannot be effective for such behaviors due to design and use problems. The support,so the humanized design of non-functional space has become an urgent issue. The research content of this thesis mainly includes four parts: firstly,it analyzes and studies the origin and development trend of the museum, explains the related concepts of nonfunctional space and humanized design, and analyzes the relevant theories used in the research. And summarized and summarized the problems of non-functional space in contemporary Chinese museum buildings.Secondly,it studies and summarizes the characteristics of museum audiences from other audiences and their behavioral characteristics in museums.Through the spatial perception research of human senses, the characteristics of humanized space are analyzed in terms of human psychological influence and material influence. To reveal the interaction between the non-functional space of the museum and the behavior of the audience. On the basis of the above research, the functions of outdoor plaza space, roof space, ash space,non-functional space in the layer, vertical traffic space and atrium space in the nonfunctional space of the museum building are expanded and comprehensively analyzed..Finally,the methods and strategies of the non-functional space humanized design of the museum are summarized, and the application analysis of the non-functional space humanized design in the museum practice case leads to the thinking of the humanized design of the nonfunctional space of the museum. At the same time, the development trend of non-functional space design is forecasted.
