A Study On The Genealogy Study Of Master Carpenters In The Group Xi-di Of Min-nan Based On Oral History

the Group Xi-di is a famous carpenter gang in Fujian and Taiwan since the late Qing Dynasty.They have been handed down from generation to generation to build their own architectural style.At present,there are many studies on the Xidi faction in Taiwan,but there is a lack of horizontal connection between the Taiwan and mainland sides on the Xidi faction.This paper cuts in from the perspective of genealogy,combined with the method of oral history,from the connection between the master's genealogy and the teacher's family,the teacher's pedigree system to explore the pedigree of the carpenter from the end of the Qing Dynasty,with a view to Taiwan.Studies have been carried out to bridge the research of the Xidi School,to better protect the traditional folk architecture and to inherit the traditional architectural culture of southern Fujian.1)First of all,this thesis sorts out the genealogy represented by Wang's carpenter's master craftsman,and analyzes the distribution of known genealogy in the genealogy,and records the information of the genealogy such as the birth and death situation and the identity of the craftsman.It was discussed.2)Secondly,combined with the mastery of the master carpenter's art,the relationship between the master and the master of the Xidi master carpenter is compared with the genealogy,and then the relationship between the teacher and the teacher can be divided into family art,family inheritance and different surnames.Mainly based on family art.3)In addition,the Taiwanese literature on the work of the Taiwanese craftsmen and their construction activities was collected,and the data collected by the genealogy and oral narration were compared with them to establish the pedigree of the carpenters in Taiwan.Finally,it is concluded that the pedigree of the big carpenter of the Xidi School is mainly passed down in the form of family art,and also combines the form of family inheritance and different surnames.In addition,the pedigree of the Xidi faction also extends to areas such as Taiwan.
