In the pasted10years, Chinese society has undergone a rapid economical development and a quick informational exchange, architectural design has reached an unprecedented period of rapid development which made remarkable achievements. However, there have enormous social problems behind, such as commercial design, stereotype design,all of what are stepping in an awful states; at the same time, designers and the public have a definitlly mis-understanding of architectural design. Based on this, Mr. Cui Kai proposed the concept of "Bentu design" as the case, which tries to return to the basic thinking principles of architectural design. it focuses on the natural and social environment of architecture, and respects objective factors such as history, culture, create a more harmonious and objective design environment.Since the beginning of the last century, generations of Chinese architects are exploring on the Subject of "Design for China". So this thesis will extract the teacher-student relationship through the contemporarial architect as the clue. And then, through the review of historical figures and state changes of architects’s "Design for China" to have a combing and summarize. All of these could establish a position on the timeline to understand Mr. Cui Kai’s "Design for China" policy-"Bentu design". Which would show the change and progress in contemporary "Design for China" policy.In this paper, contemporary China Architect:Cui Kai, Wang Shu, Liu jiakun,Chang yongho’s relationship between teacher and student will be the case. The describing and interpreting of more than20architects and their design works could outline the local Chinese architects’"Design for China".
