As China's urbanization process continues to accelerate,the process of urbanization is also advancing,and small towns are undergoing rapid changes.As a bridge and link connecting cities and villages,small towns are the top priority of national strategic deployment and planning,and they play an important role.The small town center area is the core space of the town and the core of the public function of the small town.It is the window for the urban display.Its spatial layout,architectural form,structural function and spatial characteristics all have an important impact on the overall image of the town.Affect the development of urban economy and society.Compared with the small towns in the southern coastal areas,the small towns in western Liaoning are relatively lagging behind,the speed is relatively slow,the space is low,the consumption level is low,and the economy is backward,resulting in a large outflow of people.The history and culture,topography and economic development of the western Liaoning region have certain representativeness and uniqueness.At present,there is no research on the spatial design of urban centers in western Liaoning,and there are few studies on urban design in western Liaoning.The design of the central area of small towns in western Liaoning is the object of this study,which has great practical value and advanced significance.The purpose of this paper is to study a set of design methods and strategies suitable for the central area of small towns in western Liaoning,and provide theoretical reference and reference for the space design of small towns in western Liaoning.The design of the central area of small towns should fully handle the relationship between the core concepts and the basic systems,pay more attention to the overall effect,not be unconventional,not blindly compare,pay attention to integrity,and make small towns stop the development of "quantity" and turn to "Quality improvement.The article first compares the small town center area with the urban central area space,and proposes the differences and differences,and then proposes the difference between the design of the central space of the small town and the urban design.The third chapter of the article conducts a classification study of 116 small towns in western Liaoning,and analyzes the urban characteristics and style of different types of small towns.The fourth chapter summarizes and summarizes the spatial design method of the central area of small towns in western Liaoning,and draws out the layout methods and principles of the central area of small towns.The fifth chapter of the article selects Gengbangzi Town and Changxingdian Town as the typical research objects,and designs and practices the central area.
