Study On Public Space Construction Of Teaching And Research Building In Taiwan’s University

The construction of campus is a dynamic process,and the demands of people will change with the progress of The era.The public space of campus buildings should be constantly improved according to the current and future needs to create pleasant space for teachers and students.After a hundred years of development,Taiwan colleges and universities tend to be saturated,and began to rise campus construction activities from the end of the last century,and achieved good results.Through the investigation and research,the author discusses the construction strategy of public space in teaching and research buildings in Taiwan universities.This paper firstly sorts out the current theories on public space construction.Through field research,personal experience,visit and observation,literature reading and other research methods,this paper analyzes the development process of public space of teaching and research buildings in Taiwan universities,and expounds the characteristics of teaching and research buildings and their public space in various periods.Four influencing factors of public space construction are summarized:social background,cultural background,natural conditions and users,and the influence factors are analyzed.Then,through the analysis of typical cases such as The Design Building of Ming Chuan University,The Common Teaching Center of Taiwan University,The School of Management of Chung Cheng University,Business School of Chengchi University,this paper probes into the achievements of teaching and research buildings in Taiwan universities in creating public space,and summarizes their construction techniques.Finally,five construction strategies are put forward:the public space of socialization,creativity,diversity,ecological,and participatory construction.The rapid development of colleges and universities in mainland China has resulted in the lack of public space maintenance.Through theoretical analysis and case evidence,this paper analyzes the public space of teaching and research construction in Taiwan colleges and universities,summarizes and puts forward the construction strategies,with a view to providing reference for universities in mainland China.
