The tea room is actually the largest and most complicated teaware. The establishment of the tea room in the Japanese building has been established since the establishment of the “Soanfu style” tea room by Sen no Riky. The Japanese teahouse building inherits orderly and has a unique atmosphere creation method, but generally refers to the teahouse building of the Matcha. In this paper, the architectural design of the Japanese Sencha Tea Room is studied. The Sencha catalogue is taken as the research object from the end of the Edo period to the early Meiji period. The author consulted a large amount of information and searched for three catalogues of "Qingwan Tea Association Catalogue","Qingwan Mingyan Catalogue" and "Dongshan Tea Association Catalogue",and the case of the sautéed tea banquet is analyzed and summarized.Sencha inherits from the Chinese Yue drinking method in Ming and Qing Dynasties and is deeply influenced by Chinese Ming and Qing literati tea.It is founded by the Ming Dynasty Yinyuan Chan Master, and then established by the tea seller. The sencha from the end of the Edo period to the beginning of the Meiji period is recorded in detail by the catalogue of the sencha. From the catalogue of Sencha, the Sencha can be divided into three stages: early germination, epidemic development, and Japaneseization. The spatial composition and aesthetic pursuit of the sencha tea room are also analyzed in this paper. The spatial composition includes: the overall composition, the interior details, and the decorative furnishings. The aesthetic pursuit includes the spirit of sencha of the “quiet and spare” and “harmony and elegant”.Sencha advocates the unity of man and nature and longs for a free and leisurely life.In the tea room,Chinese traditional pattern is used to decorate in order to pursue the tea realm of the "Seven Bowls of Tea Songs" of tea fairy,Lu Tong.Due to the development of contemporary Chinese tea space, more relevant materials are needed for reference to help trace and explore the composition and design of tea room in the Ming and Qing Dynasties in China, thus providing theoretical support and practical guidance for contemporary tea room design. Finally, the enlightenment of Japanese sencha tea design on Chinese contemporary tea space design is summarized. The suggestions from entrance to interior space design to atmosphere creation are put forward in order to provide new ideas for contemporary Chinese tea space design.
