A Comparative Study On The Comprehensive Competitiveness Of The Main Ports In The Yangtze River Economic Zone

The Yangtze River Economic Belt mainly refers to the Yangtze River Delta and the areas along the Yangtze River,from Shanghai to Sichuan Province in the east and west.At present,the Yangtze River Delta region with Shanghai and Nanjing as the core,the middle reaches urban agglomeration with Wuhan as the core and the upstream Chengdu Economic Zone with Chongqing and Chengdu as the core have been formed.At the same time,the port has been an important strategic resource for the rise of a big country and a region since ancient times.the port of the Yangtze River Economic Belt has the location conditions and port advantages to reach the sea.The major traffic passageways along the Yangtze River have been gradually improved,and the economic hinterland of the city where the port is located is vast,the total economic volume is large,and the comprehensive strength is strong.it has been formed with Shanghai Port as the leader.The ports in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River centered on Nanjing Port,the ports in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River centered on Wuhan Port and the ports in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River centered on Chongqing Port.Therefore,compared with ports in other areas,the ports of the Yangtze River Economic Belt play an important role in the national port development strategy.However,the advantages,economic base and development direction of the main ports in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are different.in order to enable the main ports in the Yangtze River Economic Belt to objectively understand their position,advantages and disadvantages,In the future development,develop strengths and avoid weaknesses,give full play to the advantages,therefore,the Yangtze River economic belt main ports comprehensive competitiveness comparative study has important practical significance.Based on Porter’s competition theory,this paper adopts the way of comparative study from the point of view of port region.firstly,it analyzes the overall development trend of the Yangtze River economic belt,the regional development situation of the main ports and the challenges they face.Then,the key factors affecting the comprehensive competitiveness of the main ports in the Yangtze River Economic Belt are identified.The evaluation index system of the comprehensive competitiveness of the main ports in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is constructed from five aspects: Port geographical location environment,port infrastructure,port logistics capacity,port city economic strength and port factor input.Through the method of entropy weight TOPSIS and cluster analysis,this paper makes a comparative study on the comprehensive competitiveness of the main ports in the Yangtze River economic belt by using SPSS software.Finally,according to thecomparative analysis of the evaluation conclusions and combined with the comprehensive competitive characteristics of the main ports in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of the main ports in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
