Research On The Comprehensive Competitiveness Of Container Port In The Yangtze Delta Based On Game Model

Recently,as the global economy has been declining obviously,the cargo resources have also witnessed a slowing down,leading to the insufficiency of cargo transportation demand.The competition among different ports thus become increasingly stiff,especially for the domestic main ports.Because of the unreasonable construction and the lack of integrated designing and managing,the services offered by various ports are quiet similar and alternative;therefore,the fierce competition has rendered huge waste of social resources.As a result,the competition and cooperation problems among domestic main ports should be studied thoroughly based on the current economic state.The approach and guidance about how to divide the work,how to compete and cooperate rationally are thus should be deeply explored.Regarding this problem,this thesis studies the port comprehensive competitiveness evaluation and the port competition game.The “New Normal” economy faced by the ports has been analyzed,and then the content and the main levels of the competition among ports have been pointed out.In terms of the port comprehensive competitiveness evaluation system,the main indexes of the port competitiveness have been established through systematic analyzing.Based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process and relevant theories of the ANP,the network assessment model for the comprehensive competitiveness is established,and the model is solved with the Super Decisions to get the final weight of each index.After that,the comprehensive evaluation of port competitiveness is done.In terms of port competition game,this paper uses the methods and thoughts of game theory,fully considering the mutual influences between the ports on their decision-making.The port competitiveness indexes are then used as indicators to establish the port competition game model.Thereafter,two ports are taken as specific examples to analyze the earnings under different combination of strategiesOn the basis of theoretical analysis,this article selects the port cluster on the Yangtze river delta as the researching object.The comprehensive competitiveness of Shanghai port and Ningbo-Zhoushan port is conducted,and hence the two ports’ competitiveness indexes are computed,after which the game model is used to calculate the payoff matrix.Through the analysis of the payoff matrix,some conclusions are drawn: the cooperation between the ports is conducive to the overall development of port cluster,but the cooperation is not easy to form and unstable,requiring certain mechanisms as the premise and assurance.Finally,according to the results of model analysis,combined with the current development of the port cluster on the Yangtze river delta,four suggestions on the future development are concluded: the integrated planning and effective management;the reasonable division and the differentiation;the information and resource sharing;the cross-shareholding and capital penetration.
