A River Anthropological Study On Qingtongxia Yellow River Irrigation Area

Water is a kind of essential natural resource for human beings.The Euphrates and Tigris rivers in the four ancient civilizations in the world,as well as the Yellow River and the Yangtze River in China,have nurtured the people living by them,and meanwhile,unique water cultures have been created in the long historical process.The Yellow River irrigation area in Qingtongxia,Ningxia,which is an ancient Yellow River irrigation area in China with a history of more than 2000 years,is one of the most successful irrigation engineering projects in the upper reaches of the Yellow River Basin and local people benefit a lot from this irrigation engineering project.Starting from the point,line and surface of the river basin,river anthropology explores the complex relations between people,land and water in the three aspects of water control,water use and water protection from the view of micro to macro.In the traditional agricultural society,people can not do without land and water resources.With water sources,there is farmland irrigation.In modern society,the utilization of Yellow River water is no longer confined to agricultural irrigation,but also extends to generating electricity,transferring water across regions to promote ecological balance,and developing tourism with the combination of water culture and landscape.In a word,the water of the Yellow River has diversified ways of development.Inspired by the spirit of Dayu's water control,the people of Qingtongxia changed this river basin from generation to generation.The river basin also changed the people of Qingtongxia,and here people and water coexist harmoniously.The continuous changes of the river basin are also promoting changes in people's lives and cultures.The people in Qingtongxia,who can not live without the water of the Yellow River,are growing in this area.
