With the development of urbanization with Chinese characteristics, people pay more and more attention to the humanization of living environment and the ornamentality of landscape.Among them, the combination of landscape green space outside residential area and people's living space is the most close to people's daily life, which is very important. In residential landscape plant space design, the main reason is to grasp the spatial scale of plants, but the design criteria are relatively vague concepts. On the basis of satisfying the function, designers usually base their own experience. When cognitive deviation occurs, the designed plant space can not accurately meet the needs of users. At this time,it is of great significance for us to study the relationship between plant spatial scale and user's psychological perception and get relatively clear quantitative criteria.Based on the research of related theories and concepts, this paper takes Jinxiucheng and other residential areas in Zhonghai as the representative to study and analyze the spatial structure of green plants in urban residential areas of Hohhot. From the perspective of environmental psychology, this paper analyses the scaling elements related to plant space and human psychological perception, including human height scale, visual and auditory scales. Then, the selection of plot space for different types of plant landscape greenbelt in different residential areas is carried out,and the detailed planting methods and spatial scales of plants in each plot space are quantitatively analyzed. Finally, the scale of plant space is studied by combining environmental assessment methods in environmental psychology.Based on the perceptual evaluation of the site, the SD method in environmental assessment is used in this study. We studied and analyzed the bottom area, coverage, enclosure degree and D/H value of plant space. The correlation regression analysis between the object scale data of plant space and the psychological perception data is carried out,and the regression analysis equation is obtained. It is found that the urban residential area in Hohhot is located. In the greenbelt landscape space of the district, there is a significant correlation between the bottom area of the vegetation group greenbelt and people's closeness to the space, and the ideal area is about 265.4.At the same time, plant branches and leaves will affect the exposure of natural light, and then affect people's perception of the brightness and openness of the covered space. When the coverage of plant space is more than 40%,the closure of the space will be enhanced, the site will have a sense of darkness,on the contrary, the openness and brightness will be enhanced. At the same time, plant spatial enclosure is most closely related to people's perception, and there is a significant correlation between plant spatial enclosure and human perception indicators in regression analysis.According to regression equation, when the enclosure degree is less than 15.8%,people will feel the space sense. The results also showed that the space with high enclosure degree was considered more interesting. When the enclosure degree exceeded 17.7%,the plant enclosure level increased appropriately, and people would feel that the space interesting degree also increased. These conclusions intuitively show the relationship between plant spatial scale and psychological perception changes, hoping to play a role in the practical application of the designer's accurate grasp of plant spatial scale. Finally, the research results are summarized, the shortcomings of empirical research are analyzed and prospects are made.It is expected to provide some reference for the future construction of plant landscape space in residential areas of Hohhot,so as to make the green space environment of urban residential areas more humanized and the life of residents better.
