Since the industrial revolution, developed countries such as France,Sweden, and the United States have stepped into an aging society, and the aging population which is inescapable is bringing great challenges to the world.Due to the large number of elderly people in China, the aging process in China far exceeds that of other developing countries, and the existing old-age services and facilities cannot meet the needs of the elderly.Through the investigation and analysis of the established old-age community,it is found that there are various problems in the community walking space, such as insufficient design and lack of suitable aging design.According to the relevant design norms, the allround optimization design of the walking space of the old-age community is carried out.In the process of writing the thesis, through the literature review of the first two chapters, the status quo and development of China's aging is discussed. The existing problems are identified for the development of China's old-age community. The research direction of this paper is determined by the definition of relevant concepts and theories. The author mainly conducts statistics and statistics through the practice survey in the third chapter, and takes the five typical old-age communities in Beijing and Qingdao as the indepth research objects to find out the specific problems existing in the design of the existing pedestrian space. In the fourth chapter, optimizing the design of the walking space in the old-age community using by using the research findings and the relevant norms and design specifications, mainly aimed at the safe road environment, the green landscape of the recreation, the comfortable and diverse facilities layout and the special space nodes, and providing optimization suggestions and reference for the design of pedestrian space in China's old-age community.
