As a special purpose vehicle for garbage collection and transfer,compression refuse collectors have been widely used in various cities.There are in defects in the structure design and material selection of traditional compression refuse collectors with the square compartment which can cause weld crack between the baseplate and side plate of the compartment.In this paper,the improved design of compression refuse collector with arc compartment has been conducted and the issues of the compartment before improved design have been analyzed.The frame bearing structure of the improved arc compartment has been established for inite element analysis.An automatic lubrication system of the guide rail which is applied to compression refuse collectors with arc compartment has been designed and the tribological properties of the push shovel and guide rail in reality before and after installing the lubrication system on the MRH-3 high-speed ring-on-block wear test machine have been explored.The process flow of the improved compartment is introduced and the trace analysis of the vehicle in reality is carried out after the product launching on the market.First of all,the issues of the compartment before improved design have been analyzed.The issue of weld is excluded through weld reduction and tests.Commencing from the product structure,the force analysis and calculation are carried out on the guide rail and side plate,and the cause of the problem has been found out.Further more,the frame bearing structure of the improved arc compartment has been established and the three-dimention solid design has been carried out.Through calculating the deformation of the guide rail,the way of strengthening the guide rail is determined and the force of the side plate is eliminated.The wear-resistant material is introduced in the improvement of the baseplate,and the reason of selecting the new material and its economy are analyzed.Besides,the force analysis and calculation are carried out on the arc compartment.ANSYS Workbench has been applied to conduct finite element analysis of the improved compartment structure according to the force analysis,so as to ensure that the stress of the guide rail meets the design requirements.Through modal analysis of vibration characteristics,resonance of the improved structure can be avoided in operation.In addition,an automatic lubrication system of the guide rail which is applied to compression refuse collectors with arc compartment has been designed,in order to explore the friction and wear performances of the push shovel and guide rail in reality before and after installing the lubrication system.The controlled variable and orthogonal tests were carried out to investigate the tribological properties of nylon PA66 block and steel ring friction pairs under dry friction,wet friction and various water lubrication conditions on the MRH-3 high-speed ring-on-block wear test machine.The wear mechanisms were obtained by analyzing topographies of worn surfaces.Last but not least,the process flow of the improved compartment is introduced and the trace analysis of the vehicle in reality is carried out after the product launching on the market.The overall economical analysis of the improved compression refuse collector with arc compartment and the prospect of the subsequent improved design are carried out.
