Research And Practice Of Commodity Design Based On Natural Texture Characteristics Of Zebrawood Edge Materials

Wood has unique textures due to different varieties and growth environments,and wood has won people’s favor with its unique natural attributes.The increasingly conflicting demand for wood supply has become an urgent problem to be solved.The comprehensive utilization rate of wood needs to be improved.This article focuses on how to carry out experiments and design practices based on the natural texture characteristics of wood combined with specific product design,which is one of the means to improve the comprehensive utilization of wood.This paper takes the edge material of zebrawood(Paraberlinia bifoliolata)as an example,summarizes the natural texture characteristics of wood,analyzes the related literatures and excellent cases at all times and in all lands,especially the material experiment of zebrawood.The universal principle and method of wood texture characteristics in product design: high-quality use of ordinary materials,high valueadded use of high-quality materials and sub-materials and ingenious use of materials of poor quality.The author tries to explore the texture characteristics of wood,respecting the natural texture characteristics of wood,and applying techniques according to the material;combining zebrawood with other wood and different materials to reveal the rhythm of zebrawood.The reorganization and reshaping of the natural texture of zebrawood rejuvenates the scraps,and proposes a design principle that can adapt to the natural texture characteristics of wood to be applied to the design of daily necessities,creating products that meet the characteristics of wood and meet the needs of the present life.
