Study On The Application Of Material Texture In Residential Interior Design

Each form of objective existence of substance has texture attributes. The texture of material just like its own characteristic, it is representative and different. Texture of material showing its feature of surface, some are rough, some maybe smooth; some are soft, while some are hard; some are dense, some even sparse; some formed by the external force, yet some other maybe created by artificial means. There are endless stream of new materials and technologies emerging nowadays, however, there are always the few regular materials: stone, wood, glass, metal or their substitutes. The variety of regular materials thanks to the development of science and technology and the progress of processing technology, which help natural materials to break their own limitations and got improvement of physical property and durability. The processing technology ensure that the same kind of material is able to have more texture features, and different visual effect of color, texture and form. In such way, the kind of material will play its artistic value in the greatest way. We looking forward the new materials and technologies, meanwhile we should also pay attention to the expressiveness of the existing materials.Along with the social progress and development, interior decoration material that designers using have no long limited to natural materials, new materials and technologies emerging. Designers always pay attention on the new materials, because it provide them more possibility of feasibility. Texture rely on materials, while materials reflect the nature of texture. However, very few research did on the texture designing in interior design area, and the related document are very little, there has a certain limitation on this field.In this paper, we firstly introduce the basic concept of texture, then compare the practical problems and solutions of domestic and foreign study of texture research that apply on interior design. Then we analyze the emotional effect of texture on human beings, and proceed the comparison of textures of few different materials, then provide some texture collocation method by combining the design cases in real life for designers to use. In the end we discuss the practical application of texture in the graduation design. We wish that this paper will attract attention from interior designers and encourage them to do more research and exploration on the texture.
