Birds’ Habitat Design Within Urban Wetland Park

With the progression of urbanization,many ecological lands are reallocated as urban development lands where different levels of interference and sabotage of the ecological environment for many animals and vegetation take place.Birds’ living environments are also under different levels of interference.Due to the damage of their natural habitats,the total number of birds are decreasing globally.In order for us to protect the diversity of the birds,this paper approaches such subject with a landscape architectural perspective to propose a design for mutualistic human-birds urban park which provides a safe living habitat for birds and a close-to-nature-platform for human where men and birds live in peace.This article provides a close look to the current living situation of the birds,the various requirements for birds’ habitats and detailed designs of the urban wetland park.Based on the study of the physiological need of the birds and the analysis of the functional need of the wetland park,this article provides some ways to create a birds’ habitat in urban wetland park,and following presents Nanjing City River-Central-Island Wetland Design in details.
