Foamed ceramics,as a new type of external wall insulation material,has been paid more attention by enterprises and research institutions for its outstanding thermal insulation performance and durability.In this paper,tests of foamed ceramic materials(Type 400)were carried out to figure out their basic mechanical properties.Through reinforcement design and structural measures of foam ceramics board,the external wall panels were prefabricated.The flexural properties of the external wall panels were studied by static loading test,and their seismic performance under earthquakes of different intensity was studied by shaking table test,which provided the experimental basis for the practical application of foamed ceramic insulation materials.The main contents are as follows:(1)The basic mechanics properties of foamed ceramic materials were studied.The results indicated that the cube compressive strength of foamed ceramics is 4.87MPa,which satisfies the technical requirement that it is not less than 3.5MPa.The elastic modulus of foam ceramics is 5.0GPa.The stress-strain curve of the material has two stages.Before the failure,it is in the elastic stage,when the stress-strain curve is approximately a straight line.And once the peak stress is reached,the stress decreases rapidly.The compressive strain corresponding to the peak stress of the specimen is close to the ultimate compressive strain of the material,and the average is 1133με,which is only half of concrete.(2)In order to study the out-of-plane flexural behavior of foamed ceramic external wall panel,two specimens were tested under four-point loading.The test results indicated that the external wall panel designed according to the CB8 structure can meet the use requirements of the surrounding wall at the height of 90m in Beijing area,and it has large safety reserve.When foamed ceramic wall panel destroys,its overall integrity is good.The crack load and ultimate load of the specimens are quite different.The deflection of the specimen is obvious when the panel is broken,and its failure mode belongs to ductile failure.The properties of material that tends to generate through cracks have been improved by configuring the double-layer steel mesh,setting steel plates laying grid cloth and plastering mortar.(3)The shaking table test of steel frame with foamed ceramic external wall panel was carried out.The dynamic characteristics of wall panels on the different level earthquakes were investigated.And the vibration characteristic,acceleration response,displacement response and strain were analyzed.The test results show that under the rare earthquake and extremely rare earthquake,the wall panels begin to crack and connection nodes begin to be loose,which verify the safety and reliability of the joints and the external wall panel designed according to the CB8 structure.The external wall panel meets the seismic resistance requirements of the nonstructural components.
