The development of quality education needs to fully explore the unique value of off-campus education.Off-campus education should work together with school education to cultivate innovative talents with comprehensive development of morality,intelligence,and beauty.Children’s development is inseparable from the extra-curricular space,and space will affect children’s development in a subtle way.This requires a scientific perspective to examine space design.The Youth Activity Center is an important carrier for off-campus education and needs to provide a quality growth environment for children’s development.Based on such a social background,the thesis attempts to explore the design strategy of the space center for youth activities from the perspective of child development theory.Through the combing of the concept of child development and the characteristics of children’s development,the thesis summarizes the development characteristics of preschool,middle childhood and adolescence.According to the characteristics of children’s development in these three stages,the characteristics of spatial elements under the influence of children’s cognitive ability,the spatial characteristics under the influence of children’s social behavior are analyzed.Finally,this paper study children’s space through urban factor analog spatial elements,and summarizes the characteristics of spatial elements under the influence of children’s cognitive ability and children’s social behavior.The paper sorts out the definition,development,use and scale of the youth activity center building,and selects five examples into analysis:the Suzhou Industrial Park Youth Activity Center,Hangzhou Binjiang Youth Activity Center,Hangzhou West Lake Youth Activity Center(Xixi Palace),and Shanghai Qingpu Youth Center,the Roskilde Youth Centre in Denmark,from the three aspects of architectural modeling,traffic organization and functional division which were summarized to meet the space designed for children’s development,to provide materials for the design of youth activity center space.The paper analyzes the space appeals of children and parents to the youth activity center,and points out the direction of the space design of the youth activity center.Finally,the spatial design strategy suitable for the youth activity center is extracted from the spatial elements adapted to children’s development.Combined with the actual case to elaborate how the youth activity center increases the recognizability of the space,improves the openness of the space(eliminating the interface),and creates vitality traffic space.The paper puts forward the spatial design strategy of the youth activity center adapted to children’s development,in order to provide certain theoretical support and practical guidance for the current and future youth activity center space design.
