The small-bore revolving barrel weapon has the advantages of compact structure and intensive firepower,and occupies an important position in the terminal air defense and anti-missile.It is widely used in sea,land and air weaponry equipment.In order to adapt to the light weight development trend of weapon systems and improve the mounting adaptability of revolving barrel weapon on different weapon platforms,it is necessary to control the recoil/recoil resistance of the artillery.In this paper,the recoil reduction technology of a 23 mm revolving barrel weapon is studied by numerical simulation of fluid dynamics and structure dynamics.The research contents include the structure design of the muzzle brake,the calculation method of the brake efficiency and the performance evaluation of the brake.The details are as follows:(1)In order to solve the problems of long time and large computer resources for the muzzle brake efficiency by 3d flow field simulation,based on the analysis of the mechanics characteristics of the muzzle brake,a correction method for calculating the muzzle brake efficiency by 2d flow field is proposed,which is of great significance for shortening the design period of the muzzle brake.(2)According to the structural characteristics of the muzzle of the revolving barrel weapon,two kinds of applicable muzzle brake structure schemes are designed,and appropriate structure parameters of side holes are selected from multiple schemes through the efficiency index.After checking,the stiffness and strength meets the requirements.(3)Analyzed and calculated the maximum overpressure value at the key position of the muzzle.The results show that when the side hole bias distribution,the muzzle inclined below the maximum overpressure is four times the side of the symmetric distribution,but through the stress calculation of the front armor,the stress response of the two structures is far less than the material yield limit,so the two structures can be selected according to demand.(4)The influence of muzzle brake with different efficiency on the projectile muzzle velocity is studied by using dynamic grid technology.The research shows that the efficiency of the brake is proportional to the initial velocity loss of the projectile.Through data fitting,the function relation between them is obtained.It can provide reference for the calculation of external ballistic and compiled of firing table.(5)The influence of the buffer structure parameters on the buffer performance is studied,and the buffer parameters are optimized to match the muzzle brake.At the same time,the result shows that it is necessary to match the buffer parameters with the brake parameters.(6)The Adams software is used to study the muzzle disturbance after installing the muzzle brake with two structures,the research shows that for the revolving barrel weapon,the muzzle brake has less influence on the muzzle disturbance,and the bias side holes structure of the brake would slightly increase the muzzle disturbance.Based on the above research,the impact of the adding muzzle brake to the turret weapon system is small,which indicates that the technical method of recoil force by installing the muzzle brake is feasible.It can provide some reference for the recoil reduction technology of revolving barrel weapon.
