Along with the rapid development of Chinese aging,the market of the aging industry has further expanded.There are a large number of medical boxes on the market that help the elderly to take the medicine regularly.However,most of the regular timing boxes may not necessarily in line with the habits of the elderly.The design of future products and services will increasingly focus on the co-creation of personalized experiences.Co-design,or collaborative design,is a design method used by designers,users and other stakeholders to participate in design practices using generative tools.It is a design-oriented participatory way of m indset to enable products and services to meet the user's personalized experience needs,while bringing benefits to the enterprise at the same time.This paper is devoted to the application of Co-design method in the design and development process of smart medical box products for the elderly,so that the elderly and designers can participate in the design practice of the elderly smart medical box products,and explore the medicine taking experience in the future situation.This paper firstly combs the concepts related to Co-design,including Participatory Design and Co-creation.It focuses on the user's social culture in which it is located constantly improves the user experience of the product in the design preparation stage,design exploration stage and design production stage.The three core concepts of Co-design are summarized:the first is that everyone has creativity,the second is from 'design for people5 to'design for people',the third is generative tools empowering users.The process of Co-design practice has been sorted out.Before the Co-design practice,the paper designed an ageing generative toolkit to help the elderly recall and express the emotions and experiences of using the medical box during the medication,and share their understanding in medicine,box products,medication experience or environment,tapping the ideals and expectations of the elderly,helping designers build empathy for the elderly and so on.In order to understand the basic situation of taking medicine in the daily life of the elderly,it is necessary to use the design probe for research;in order to explore the problems that the elderly think in the currently design of the medical box,and the user's experience and emotions in the use of medical box,it is necessary to cooperate with the elderly to complete the user journey map based on the design probe detection;in order to obtain the priority order of the smart medical box design elements,it is necessary to classify and sort the keywords.This design idea is used to collect and create materials and design the generative toolkit.Conduct Co-design practices,analyze the user needs and functions of smart medical box products using generative toolkit,assist the elderly in smart medical box visual concept designing and prototyping,and use scenarios to simulate medication using the smart medical box prototype.The prototype of the box product is iteratively modified before outputting the final solution for the smart medical box product.Finally,an smart medical box product concept that optimizes the efficiency of the medicine taking and water drinking stages in the elderly medications,which also integrates the stakeholders is designed.This paper conducts Co-design practice with the elderly,and designs smart medical box products that can meet the individual needs of the elderly in terms of function and experience.Provide an innovative research on aging co-design and related product services with a new design approach.
