Study On External Space Sequence Of Modern Residential Buildings

Currently,people have not only paid attention to the “living” in terms of material life but more focused on “spiritual enjoyment”as our country has entered into a new era of development so that people start to chase higher environmental quality of the residential areas.The exterior space occupies a larger proportion of the entire living space,which has a stronger visual impact.Consequently,the environment quality about the exterior space of modern residential areas attracts public's attention.With the purpose of improving people's living standards and bettering the quality of human settlements,the research on sequence concerning the exterior space in modern architecture is carried out.New perspectives on urban community,psychological factors of citizens,the exterior space of buildings and spatial sequence are given when a lot of related document literature at home and abroad are consulted in the course of research.On the basis of the mentioned theories,interviews and surveys are conducted repeatedly to sort out,sum up and summarize the residential zones and their spatial sequences of exterior spaces in Changchun,Beijing,Suzhou and Shenzhen.Research techniques are concluded through speculative knowledge and the experiences for researches,the logic analysis and about actual projects:the research on spatial sequence in exterior space of buildings based on context;the research on spatial sequence in exterior space of buildings based on five senses from human beings;the research on spatial sequence in exterior space of buildings based on the conditions of building lot;the research on spatial sequence in exterior space of buildings based on the material elements.The following research findings are obtained by means of combining the four mentioned research methods and practice cases: the layout of large-scale quadrangle type spatial sequences presenting Chinese courtesy order;four kinds pf space types with the experiences of five senses;green plants and wind directions combined with the conditions of building lot;theoretical achievementshaving spatial series of plants with the principle of “softness” element and economization carrying “harness” element.Therefore,references and evidences are offered for the exterior space design of modern residential districts and relevant studies.
