Kazakhstan spans Europe and Asia,and its territorial size,economic volume,and natural resource reserves all rank first in the Central Asian countries.Meanwhile,it is a neighboring country for the development of China's westward region,it is also a bridge to China's European countries and regions and has a geographical advantage.Under the Chinese “One Belt and One Road” initiative,Kazakhstan's engineering construction market has become a key market for China's engineering contracting companies.It has welcomed broad market development opportunities for large-scale engineering contractors such as CRCC and CREC.However,at the current stage,the market share of China's engineering contracting companies in Kazakhstan is still relatively small,and the understanding of Kazakhstan's project contracting market is not comprehensive enough.In view of the above issues,this article hopes to provide strategic support and related strategies after analysis and research for Chinese global companies to contract engineering construction in Kazakhstan.Firstly,this article analyzes the characteristics of Kazakhstan's engineering construction market,and focuses on analyzing the investment opportunities and development prospects of Kazakhstan's engineering construction market.It believes that there is a huge space for Kazakhstan's engineering construction contracting market,and it is worthwhile for project contracting companies to expand their business in Kazakhstan.Secondly,this thesis uses SWOT to analyze the internal and external factors of Chinesefunded enterprises contracting projects in Kazakhstan.Based on the AHP model,it draws out the strategies that Chinese companies should use to contract for Kazakhstan's engineering construction,namely SO and ST strategies.From a strategic point of view,the companies should be based on opportunities and advantages,challenge the existing environment,and continue to carry out Kazakhstan project contracting.Strategic analysis provides a basic model for the development of Chinese-funded enterprises in Kazakhstan.Specifically,it also requires the enterprises to formulate strategic plans based on actual conditions.This article proposes to rely on national strategies to seek cooperation opportunities,use technical advantages to establish typical projects,and cooperate with financial institutions to provide contracting with capital and strengthening brand building explore the basic countermeasures for the development of international management,and also provide specific strategies of operations,negotiation and bidding for the development of the enterprise.Finally,this article discusses the important role of these strategies in the case of the Astana light rail project and concludes that these strategies do help Chinese companies get the smooth contracting of the project.Based on the specific analysis of the case,a successful Strategies for obtaining the engineering contract in Kazakhstan was inferred.
