The “One Belt and One Road” is a millennium plan that meets China's proposal of “Building a community of shared future for all humankinds”.Under the background of China's continuous promotion of “One Belt and One Road” policy,Chinese companies will participate in more investment projects overseas.This process is bound to have both opportunities and challenges,so risk management has been a key to the success of the project.Through the analysis of typical cases,this paper analyzes the investment risks faced by enterprises,explores the strategies for preventing,controlling and resolving investment risks,and guides how Chinese companies prevent risks in the process of investing in countries along the “One Belt and One Road” initiative.It is of great practical significance and research value.Based on this,this article takes the Colombo Port City project in Sri Lanka as an example to study in depth the reasons for the suspension of the project and the hidden risks behind it.At the same time,combining the characteristics of countries along the “One Belt and One Road” initiative,we will analyze the risks that Chinese companies may face in their investment project,and provide targeted prevention strategies from the perspective of the company,so as to increase the investment quality and efficiency of Chinese companies along the “One Belt and One Road” countries.The research of this paper mainly includes six parts.The first part is the introduction,discussing the research background and significance of this article,the research summary related to this article,the basic ideas and logic of this article,and the innovation of this article.The second part introduces the case selected in this article-the port city of Colombo,Sri Lanka,including the project's timeline,content,and the impact of the project's suspension on the Chinese company.The third part provides an in-depth analysis of the reasons for the suspension of the project,including changes in the domestic government and the games of major countries.The fourth part analyzes the effectiveness of China's foreign investment from the aspects of strengthening cooperation,having positive effects on host countries,and bringing benefits to China.The fifth part starts with the risks contained in the case,according to characteristics of the countries along the “One Belt and One Road” initiative,analyze the risks in foreign investment under the "One Belt and One Road" initiative.The sixth part proposes risk prevention measures from the perspective of enterprises in order to improve the quality of the overseas projects.Based on the “One Belt and One Road” policy,this paper starts with typical cases and analyzes the risks faced by investment projects under the “One Belt and One Road” initiative,which not only enriches the theoretical connotation of Chinese companies' investment risks along the “Belt and Road” initiative,but also provides references for enterprises to better grasp the investment opportunities.Of course,there are still some deficiencies in this article,such as insufficient quantitative research and inadequate comprehensive risk prevention measures,which may lead to lack of persuasion of some conclusions of this paper.This is the deficiencies need to be improved in the future.
