Intellectual Property Appraisal For Engine Technology Renovation Of Changhe Automobile Co., LTD

With the accelerating pace of economic globalization,the global competition among industries and enterprises is becoming increasingly fierce.As the second largest economy in the world,China is changing from the large country to a strong country of intellectual property.Independent innovation capability and cultural soft power have become the country's core competitiveness.Intellectual property becomes the largest source of wealth,and it is an important weapon for innovative entities to participate in market even international competition.This paper uses bibliometric analysis,statistics and other methods to analyze the development trends,patent types,technical distribution,patent validity and patent quality of Jiangxi Changhe Automobile Co.Ltd(hereafter referred to as Changhe Automobile)and Beijing Automotive Industry Group(hereafter referred to as Beijing Automotive).The paper analyzes the patent application quantity,technical distribution,patent validity and important patents of the five corporations that Changhe Automobile focused on.Then the paper respectively analyzes the patent legal status,IPC composition,main applicants,technical topics and important patents of the four key technology fields of engine,overall analyzes the patent quantity,application trends,the layout,patent types,patent validity,applicants and countries applied the important patent of the four key technology fields.Based on the above analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:The patent application in the engine field of Changhe Automobile and Beijing Automotive are both after 2008.Changhe Automobile applied more patents in engine lubrication system,fuel injection system and cylinder system fields,and Beijing Automotive applied more patents in engine support system,intake system and exhaust system fields.The patent inefficiency of Changhe Automobile and Beijing Automotive respectively accounted for 17% and 1%,the patent quality and the emphasis on patent can still be improved.Among the five companies that are focused on,Ford Motor Company had the largest number of patent application which is 2209,Volkswagen applied the first patent of engine field in China in 1988,while all of the three corporations of China applied after2000.The patent type of Ford and Volkswagen was mainly invention,and the corporations of China was mainly utility.All the five corporations were generally concerned about the intake system,exhaust system,valve train system and fuel injection system.In the four key technical fields,the patent efficiency of the crankcase ventilationsystem and the cap system was the highest,the patent inefficiency of the the lubricating system and cylinder system was the highest.The concentration degree of technology in the four key technical fields was higher,and the concentration degree of applicants was lower.In the four key technology areas,the largest number of patent application was lubrication system.The patent applications of Chery Automobile Co.Ltd,Chang'an Automobile Group,Beijing Automotive,Geely Automobile Corporation and Great Wall Motor Company were ranked top 10 in all fields,their innovation and R&D capability was strong.The top three foreign countries applied the most patents in China were United States,Japan and Germany.Though the number of patents applied of Chinese applicants was accounted for 89%,the Chinese applicants of the patents inefficiency was accounted for more than 90%.The gap between China and foreign countries such as United States,Japan and Germany was still big in writing claims,patent layout in the world,patent value and the application scope of patent.
