Research On Traditional Dwellings Of Manchu In Liaoning From The Perspective Of Cultural Ecology

Traditional residential architectures and villages are closely related to human life.The traditional dwellings are built to meet the needs of residents’ life and production activities,and that the longest and most basic architecture types during the process of human adapting and conquering the nature.Considering the residential pattern as the culture combination of human life style from multiple perspectives such as ecology,ethnology and anthropology may not only include the building form and spatial form but also represent the living and ideological form of the nation,for instance,local customs,ethic,religion and aesthetic sentiment.In the long process of history development,the cultural characteristics of traditional dwellings have been changing as the influence of the developing residential culture and national culture.The traditional dwellings of Manchu in Liaoning remain and contain its own developing historical course,and reflect the residential pattern and living concept as well.The long-term contact and merging with other Chinese ethnic peoples bring the reciprocal influence and coexistence for the development of the traditional residence of Manchu.This paper analyzes the evolution of traditional dwellings of Manchu from the perspective of cultural ecology,thus gets the overall understanding of the natural factors,social factors,economic factors and cultural factors during the changing process of the residential culture.Exploring the connotation and development of ethnic culture from the ecological complexes benefits clarifying the shallow understanding of traditional residences,meanwhile expands the view of studying Manchu dwellings and villages.And researching from the perspective of culture change would help to get a comprehensive understanding of the developing course of the Manchu traditional residences and villages.Through the evolution research of the social structure and relations,this paper grasps the influence on Manchu community of identification from family and nation.And then analyzes the contact combination and to adaptation of the multicultural model in terms of living patterns,living behaviors and living concepts.This thesis combines theories with practical investigation,and applies extensive theoretical knowledge on the basis of reviewing the dwelling feature of Manchu in Liaoning,which researches the residences and the living culture beneath the surface.It analyzes the relations of the traditional residences’ physical space,the nonphysical space and social space,by which explains the internal relation and residential culture connotation.This paper broadens the horizons of the research on Manchu traditional residences,and provides new perspectives and approaches for the study of traditional dwellings and the theoretical foundation as well,which in favor for Manchu residential culture protection and inheritance.
