As China’s urabanization progress,urban function spillover,space spread,urban fringe area is located in the interlaced area between the city and the rural area.It has become the most influential area in the development of the space,and has also become an important window to show the city’s image.Because of the difference between the urban fringe and the central urban area in the development mechanism and the way of land use,the formation and development of the spatial characteristics of the fringe area are affected by a complicated relationship.In addition,all the stakeholders in the urban fringe seek to maximize the economic benefits and carry out the blind and unordered development and construction,which leads to the serious challenge to the protection and molding of the spatial characteristics of the marginal areas.Therefore,how to protect and display the relationship between the spatial characteristics of the urban fringe and the coordination of spatial characteristics and the dynamic development of the marginal areas is the key point of this paper.From the perspective of organic growth,based on the research of urban space characteristics at home and abroad,the planning method,implementation and management measures of spatial characteristics in urban fringe area are explored.First,the characteristics and composition of urban spatial characteristics are summarized from the theoretical research and practical cases of urban spatial characteristics at home and abroad,general process and method of urban spatial characteristic planning and the development trend of urban space characteristic planning.Secondly,the formation and development of organic growth theory is combed,the understanding of the theoretical connotation and characteristics of organic growth is put forward,and the ideological system of organic growth theory is constructed.It also studies the necessity and applicability of organic growth theory in the molding of spatial characteristics in urban fringe area,and excavate the agreement point between the organic growth theory and the spatial characteristics of the fringe area,which provides a new theoretical perspective for the molding of spatial characteristics of urban fringe.Thirdly,considering the existing problems of spatial characteristics in urban fringe area,taking the connotation and characteristics of organic growth theory as the guidance,the spatial characteristics of urban fringe areas are excavated from time,space and function dimensions,and the spatial characteristics of urban fringe areas are summarized and their development directions are determined.On this basis,from the overall spatial pattern,landscape environment and specific types of characteristics of the two aspects of special targeted urban fringe spatial characteristics molding methods,and corresponding planning and construction management system,the rational establishment of urban characteristics evaluation mechanism,in order to ensure the smooth implementation of urban characteristics.Finally,taking into account the applicability and operability of the study,we choose Xiqing District of Tianjin as an empirical research object.Under the guidance of the organic growth theory,the spatial characteristics of the urban fringe area is modeled and the method is used.By systematically evaluating the spatial characteristics of Xiqing District,the features of the dominant space are excavated,and then the spatial characteristics of the Xiqing district are brought out from the two levels of the overall level and the specific elements to show the Xiqing.Features of the district in terms of ecology,space and culture.
