The construction technology of the fundamental riprap and tamping for immersed tube tunnels in the open sea is applied for the first time in the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Island Tunnel Project by means of the self-developed equipment for riprap and hydraulic vibratory tamping and measurement control system.This paper focuses on the soft foundation treatment construction technology of riprap and tamping of immersed tube tunnels in the open sea and makes an illustration of its formation process,construction characteristics,resource allocation,construction procedures and control standards based on the fundamental treatment needs of the immersed tube tunnels of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Island Tunnel Project.Meanwhile,the research aims at filling in the blank in the current waterway engineering quota to meet the needs of the adjustment of budget estimate according to the preliminary design documents of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.Detailed record,comparison and analogy were used to carry out quota measurement and the results of the supplementary scale of the riprap and tamping of immersed tube tunnels in the open sea based on the principles of water transport engineering quotas were obtained.Firstly,the paper makes an introduction of the formation of the construction technology for fundamental riprap and tamping for immersed tube tunnels in the open sea,the current research of engineering construction quota at home and abroad,and describes the general situation,construction characteristics and overall arrangement of riprap and tamping project,then illustrates its application in the construction of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge project.Secondly,the paper presents a detailed illustration of the construction technology of riprap and tamping,including construction measurement control,ship patrol,stone throw filling,procedures for tamping,base tank acceptance,elevation control and so on and technological requirements such as treatment of unacceptable products,longitudinal slope control in construction,joint handling are also introduced so that it provides a good presentation of resource allocation,construction methods and control standards of the riprap and tamping of high-precision immersed tube tunnels in the open sea with super-depth and great runoff.Finally,the quota consumption of the fundamental riprap and tamping of the immersed tube tunnels of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Island Tunnel Project was obtained through comparison and analogy based on the design principles and methods of the water transport engineering quota,the first-hand data of the resource consumption of the six immersed pipe joints in the actual construction process through the on-site record,and the data of duration and material consumption of the nineteen pipe joints that have been completed and the final research findings of the supplementary quota of the riprap and tamping provide a good measurement method and reference for the same type of quota research of riprap and tamping treatment project with a soft foundation in the open sea with super-depth.
