With the rapid development of science and technology,the distinction of products has been smaller and smaller.And consumers intend to pay more attention to the product image and brand image because of the development of the market economy.As a result,brand competitiveness depends not only on the performance,but the industrial design of the products.At the same time,the market trend has been changing rapidly,and consumers requirement for individuality and creativity of product appearance is getting higher and higher so that the product development cycle has been shorten greatly.However,product design is dependent on the designer's personal experience and ability in the design activities before,so it is hard to meet the both requirements of maintain brand image and create novel product appearance in a short time.In order to respond to the market quickly,maintain the brand style in product innovation design,this paper presents a product form deduction model using parametric shape grammars integrated interactive genetic algorithm.Firstly,analyzing the form feature of existing brand products,then designing an eye tracking experiment to extract products form elements.Using feature line to descript the product form,and defining the shape grammar,including the shape rules and constraint rules,then encoding parametric shapes as individual of interactive genetic algorithm,and deriving new shapes from shape modification rules which are implemented by genetic algorithm.All generated shapes will be showed in an artificial evaluation interface.At last,using a multi-objective fitness function to optimize the product structure,and assigning the adaptive value for product form through artificial evaluation.The genetic operation will be stopped when the satisfactory solution is obtained,and the parameters of shapes will be outputted afterwards.At the last part of this paper,an example of DMG MORI CNC lathe is used for illustrating the product form deduction model.
