“Made in China 2025” has strong characteristics of the times,including intelligence,quality,ecology,humanity,innovation and so on.As an important part of higher education,higher engineering education,of which the goal is to train advanced engineering talents,plays an important role in the development of China's economy.However,the current situation of Engineering Education in China cannot meet the needs of economic and social development,especially the implementation of the plan of “Made in China 2025”,which has triggered a new round of industrial revolution in China,calling for the transformation and development of engineering education,and training qualified engineering talents.Based on the methods of literature analysis,the questionnaire and the interview,this paper focuses on the difficulties and causes of the transformation of Higher Engineering Education in China,and the breakthrough Strategies for transformation difficulties.Based on the background of “Made in China 2025”,this study expounds the necessity of transformation from higher engineering education to reality predicament,realizing its own value,coping with future challenges and adapting to the construction of new engineering.According to the study,“made in China 2025” provides opportunities and challenges for higher engineering education,and higher engineering education provides talent support for “made in China 2025”.It puts forward the new requirements of “made in China 2025” to higher engineering education,including the new engineering education concept,the comprehensive training target of the quality and energy type,the new requirements of ecotype quality,the intelligent new technical ability and the service knowledge structure.Through sorting out the questionnaires and interviews of the research group,it is concluded that the transformation of higher engineering education should be transformed from five aspects: educational philosophy,curriculum structure,teaching methods,social services and educational evaluation.Secondly,on this basis,the five predicaments of the transformation of higher engineering education are further explored.It mainly includes the transformation of educational philosophy,the dilemma of educational system transformation,the dilemma of curriculum transformation,the dilemma of practical teaching transformation and the dilemma of social service transformation.The difficulties in the transformation of educational ideas include the dependence on the traditional education and teaching ideas,the superficial understanding of modern engineering education and the formidability of the transformation of educational ideas;the main manifestations of the transformation of the educational system are the lack of government policy guidance,the academic bias of the institutions of higher learning and the strong operation of the traditional system.The difficulties in the transformation of the curriculum system mainly include the difficulties of discipline,the theoretical logic of curriculum setting and the disconnection between the curriculum content and the demand of the times;the difficulties in the transformation of practical teaching mainly include the lack of experiments,training,practice bases,the difficulties of the substantial cooperation between schools and enterprises,the insufficient investment in practice teaching.The engineering teachers of the advanced level are lacking,and the dilemma of social service transformation is mainly manifested in the modern enterprise system and technology advanced to the universities,the achievements of scientific researches in colleges and universities into little productivity,and the engineering talents trained by colleges and universities cannot adapt themselves to the needs of modern manufacturing.Finally,from the inside and outside find the reasons for restricting the transformation of Higher Engineering Education in China.Then,from the new concept,new engineering,new model,new method,new teacher,new mechanism these six aspects put forward the breakthrough strategies of the transition of higher engineering education.That is the construction of modern engineering education concept,the construction of modern engineering professional system,the exploration of modern engineering personnel training mode,the promotion of CDIO style engineering teaching methods,the training of teachers to adapt to modern engineering education,and the establishment of modern engineering personnel training mechanism.
