Faced with predicament of the lack of competitiveness of China's manufacturing industry and the fierce competition in the new international industrial revolution,China's manufacturing can be described as "internal and external problems"."Made in China 2025",published as a strategic document,has pointed out the direction for China's manufacturing industry.Facing the new requirements put forward by the "Made in China 2025" for engineering talent,China's higher engineering education should not only actively respond to it,but also use it as an opportunity to promote the transformation of engineering education.Strengthening the research and design on the transformation mechanism of higher engineering education has become the theoretical appeal and decision-making basis for the current transformation and development of higher engineering education.This article,using mechanism design theory and system theory as analysis paradigms,analyzes the entire process of transformation of higher engineering education based on the era background of "Made in China 2025".It attempts to discuss the design,composition and mechanism of higher engineering education transformation mechanism,and puts forward safeguard proposals on the obstacles to the operation of transformation mechanism of higher engineering education through theoretical analysis,empirical investigation,expert interviews and model simulation.The first part of the paper emphasizes the research background and significance of the research,sorts out the current research status and forms a research train of thought.The second concentrates on interpreting the theoretical basis of this research and forms design thinking of higher engineering education transformation mechanism under theoretical perspective.The third establishes the design elements of the transformation mechanism of higher engineering education based on mechanism design theory,analyzes the structure and constructs the overall model of the transformation mechanism of higher engineering education.The fourth analyzes the barriers to the operation of the higher engineering education transformation mechanism.The fifth puts forward safeguard suggestions on the operation of the transformation mechanism of higher engineering education from the perspective of practice,ensuring the benign operation of the transformation mechanism.The innovations of this study: Firstly,this research is based on mechanism design theory and system theory,and the designing scheme of transitional mechanism is rational and normative,which enriches the theory of higher engineering education transformation.Secondly,this paper adopts the empirical research method of questionnaires and expert interviews,and the designed transformation mechanism is rational and operational,which provides a decision-making basis for the transformation of higher engineering education;Finally,this article follows the background of “Made in China 2025” era,that the obstacle analysis and safeguard proposals for the implementation of the transition mechanism are real-time and forward-looking,which have paved the way for the transformation of higher engineering education.
