Since 2012,the development of domestic auto industry changed rapidly from explosive growth into moderate growth with increasing competition among independent bands.The automobile enterprises put forward stronger requirement of "progress guarantee" and "shortened cycle" to new car projects.The vehicle development work is so complex,that even a delay for one day can cause million losses to the whole industry chain and hundreds of enterprises,and all these losses will be afforded by the vehicle manufacturing enterprise eventually.As one of five vehicle manufacturing enterprises,BQ Company suffered a very negative impact on the industry and economy due to frequent delay phenomenon during the past new car project development.In view of this,the vehicle project schedule management is extremely important for the enterprise.As one of the short boards,which restricts the development cycle of vehicle project,the project schedule management of "black box" is the most important one.And the vehicle seat is a representative part system in the "black box".Based on the above background,the project development process for BQ automobile seat was investigated in this paper.Firstly,the present seat project schedule management situation of BQ Company was analyzed.By means of basic knowledge for project schedule management,the problems were mined from five aspects,including project definition,event sequencing,duration estimating,planning,and progress control.All the problems were studied using theories of constraints,simultaneous engineering as well as critical chain technology,and then the improvement measures were promoted.Finally,all the above research results were applied to Project A in BQ Company to verify its effectiveness,and obviously it can shorten the development cycle with excellent achievement.As typical "black box",the existing problems and improvement measures for seat system have an extremely important reference value and certain universality on other "black box".So it can be used widely to similar OEM companies for independent research and development projects.
