The Study On The Construction Of Yuanmingyuan In Qianlong Period Of Qing Dynasty

Yuanmingyuan is a masterpiece of Chinese classical gardens.Since it was constructed,the construction activities have never stopped.Especially during the reign of the Emperor Qianlong,the construction activities were the most intensive and frequent.For a long time,there are still some deficiencies in the research on the construction activities during the Qianlong Dynasty due to the small number of physical remains on the ground and the large number scattered archives and documents.By combing the relevant construction archives,historical materials(Royal poems,paintings and maps),the actual drawings,historical photographs,archaeological materials and research results of predecessors of the Yuanmingyuan and the Changchunyuan,the construction,reconstruction activities was vividly presented from the background,preparation,personnel,funding,processes,ideas,construction process,materials,technology and post-use situation.In addition,it also explores the incentives behind the construction activities and the official system that it reflects.
