A Study On The Layout And Its Structure Of Yuanmingyuan

Yuanmingyuan is a Chinese c lassie ga rden c onstructed f or t he us c of c mperors w hich gathered every mechanism and artistic effects of that time. The planning and designing solution of it represents connection between the culture and landscape art of that time, which possesses great research v alue. A t th e tim e filled with h umiliation a nd v olatility o f la ter Q ing d ynasty, Yuanmingyuan was de stroyed to mainly a shes. Being quite a n important c ultural he ritage of gardening, the solution for protection rather than being completely reconstructed under the current situation is an essential subject, too.Referred to the project of "Protection of Yuanmingyuan Ruins", through organizing former research achievements, investigating the current situation, comprehending the practical repair and maintenance of Yuanmingyuan, author realized in order tod eliberate the environmental and landscape, historical and current ruins situation for more comprehensive protection and utilization, further study and analysis about the site plan, especially the construction of Yuanmingyuan Gareden are still required.Base on the site plan idea, the cause and landscape of Yuanmingyuan, which is a wonderful garden of a flourishing era; this paper organized part of previous research results, and did further study insight to some related historical documents. Meanwhile, through the analysis of the design drawings in the Yangshi Lei Chart and related drawings of Yuanmingyuan, combined with the survey to the site, author had quite a realistic experience to the "net" space construction, landscape created by the relations among the mountain and the water and architecture distributions.According to every previous discussion and ideas, this paper take any necessary gardening research already done by our institution for a long period of time, applied the methodology of studying level b y level. T his pa per c ombined na rrative t ext a nd r elated dr awings, pr evious atmosphere an d cu rrent s ituation, pr evious s tudy and pe rsonal r esearch a nd a nalysis t o be t he evidence an d p rove t o each o ther,level b y level an alyzed ev ery d ocument t o ach ieve a b etter understanding to the site plan, scenic and architecture combination. Then, base on these analysis and descriptions, this paper becomes reference for protection and utilization of Yuanming.
