A Study Of Architectural Design Of Villagers Activity Center In Shaoyang Area From The Regional Perspective

In recent years,with the gradual completion of large-scale infrastructure construction in domestic cities,rural construction issues have received more and more attention from all walks of life.However,it also faces many issues one of which is that local residents feel no longer sense of belonging and identity to their hometown because of the disappearance of rural elements such as rural landscape,local architecture and farming culture.Under the complex setting,central government,as the leader,put forward the slogan of “Retain nostalgia and revitalize the countryside”The government of Shaoyang(one of the important city in Hunan province with titles of“sub-central city of Hunan province” and “cultural and economic center of Xiangzhong and Xiangxi”)actively responds to the national call of rural revitalization.In details,the local government actively carry out the work of rural construction and select a number of villages as pilot project.As well as that,Experts from universities,sociologists and professionals from architectural research institutions are invited by local government to participate in the rural practice in order to explore a suitable strategy for revitalization of rural area in Shaoyang city.Among the numerous rural practice works,the villager activity center,as the most basic cultural architecture,can better reflect the culture and history of the rural area.Meanwhile,it,as the carrier and container of villagers' public life,can provide comfortable activity atmosphere for villagers who can participate in public life,which further improve the vitality and vigor of the rural areas.However,for the current construction about the villagers' activity center in rural area in Shaoyang,there are no consideration about the regional characteristics,which results in the incompatibility between the local architecture and the natural conditions of the region and the incongruity between the local architecture and the human history.Under that background,this paper firstly focuses on research about the regional-related design concept,the formation and type division of villager activity centers and the characteristics of villager activity centers from a regional perspective.Secondly,the paper summarizes the current situation of the villagers' activity center in rural area in shaoyang and some problems about the regional deficiency through investigation and interview.For changing the current situation and solving those problems,the paper discusses strategies respectively from two different perspectives ranging from the relationship between activity center and the village to the single architecture of activity center itself,combining the consideration about region nature and cultural characteristics of shaoyang area.For the first perspective,the paper mainly presents some opinions about the site selection strategies and the layout principles.For the second perspective(activity center itself),the paper focuses on the research about function selection,space design and shape design of the villager activity center.Finally,a complete set of design strategies of villager activity center which conforms on the regional characteristics in Shaoyang areas should be sorted out through combing the above research.
