The Study Of Rural Square Design Based On Local Culture

Along with the new countryside as well as the beautiful countryside vigorously develops and the promotion, all kinds of rural landscape construction movements like a raging fire. As an important public space in rural areas, rural square is the important place where the villagers make entertainment and fitness, get information exchange and take various social activities. It means a lot to build a good square or a bad one. However, the contemporary rural square is not only faced with the gradual narrowing or disappearance, the crisis of public space culture rupture and the elimination, but also faced with problem of reformation or construction. A lot of villages start building a new rural square under the impact of "City Culture". There was a lot of difference between the square with the traditional village square on the function, form, design, and construction. That causes a lot of controversy. On the one hand, from the maintenance of rural landscape integrity, same as traditional settlements, residential landscape, village square can not be arbitrarily discounted construction and development, new countryside square often destroy the old and establish the new. destructing local cultural heritage; On the other hand, new rural square is designed to absorb some foreign ideas that not well integrated into native culture, so that the effect of actual construction is mixed. The present situation of the contemporary rural square design reflects the coverage of the urban landscape mapping the rural landscape. In essence, it is the opposition between urban culture and local culture, and it is the lost of local cultural identity.This paper takes exploration of new rural square design approach in the period of landscape transformation, and intend to enhance the quality of rural public space, inheritance and continuation of the spirit of the local culture, and make villagers to find back sense of intimacy and belonging.This thesis is divided into.six chapters. The first chapter introduces the background, the purpose and the significance of the thesis; The second chapter analyzes the relationship between rural square and local culture inheritance; The third chapter from the perspective of local culture, the paper explores the process and method of the design and construction of contemporary rural square; In the fourth chapter, describes the status of current rural square in the Zhejiang region, and provide solution strategy:The five chapter substantiate the theory by introducing the square -designed cases in Zhejiang village, and the last chapter summarizes the revelation of the contemporary rural square design.
