Warehouse management which is an important sector of company’s operations is even more critical especially for BMW such large automobile manufacturing enterprises.Storage management has long been a key point in every enterprise’s internal improvement.It is the important point to quickly and effectively improve the storage level of enterprises,reduce production costs and improve the competitiveness of enterprises for each car manufacturing company.On the background of BMW Brilliance Tiexi plant assembly and based on the existing theory and the relevant literature,this paper researched on storage system of spare parts optimization research.The research contents are in the following:(1)We analysis the BMW Brilliance Automotive assembly plant storage areas by statistics.It was concluded that the storage positions effective utilization rate is too low,which the effective use of the warehouse rate is only about 50%.The material from the warehouse to the operation of the production line and delivery time is too long and low efficiency.We analysis the material flow rate by statistics.The conclusion that the material rate follow is too low.Because the time which the material is stored in the warehouse is 90 days.And the reasons for these problems are analyzed,which there are some problems in storage management,such as the unreasonable allocation of storage,the storage strategy is not optimized,and the delivery time is longer.(2)Based on the layout optimization theory,the material storage strategy were optimized.We give the optimal material storage strategy by matching relationship between of the packing box and repository.We find that the optimized storage real effective utilization rate increased by 20%through contrasting between the removal of the BMW Brilliance actual business data before and after optimization.Based on the ABC classification method,the storage area of the materials were classified storage in order to improve the efficiency from picking up the storage to the line.Based on the JIT theory we proposed that the BMW Tiexi factory should actively implement the localization of parts and components to reduce the transportation time from the supplier to the factory so as to improve the turnover rate of the storage material.(3)In order to effectively implement the optimization results,this paper puts forward the implementation strategy and safeguard measures of the optimization scheme.The implementation of the strategy include the establishment of standard training documents,multi sectoral coordination and attention to the work of guidance,etc..Security measures contain personnel organization management,system security and technical support,etc..The results of this study for BMW Brilliance Tiexi factory assembly workshop has important reference value.And it is helpful to improve the operation efficiency of storage area.Last but not least,it has referential significance to other enterprises in the same industry.So the overall research has certain progressive significance.
