With the development of information science,the expansion of organization scale and the enhancement of management demand,information systems have been rapidly popularized and widely used in all walks of life.The engineering thinking of Based on BIM system,the application of BIM three-dimensional technology provides a digital basis for all kinds of decision-making and multi-party cooperation in the whole life cycle of Engineering construction.In order to improve the quality of municipal expressway construction and implement the concept of life cycle management,the Ministry of Transportation proposed to vigorously promote the application of BIM technology in highway and waterway transportation projects.Limited by the current situation of the application and development of BIM technology in China and the degree of mastery of BIM technology by designers,the application of BIM technology in China is still in the transitional stage from two-dimensional to three-dimensional and cross-use with two-dimensional design,That is to say,the design of construction drawings is completed first,and then a three-dimensional model(BIM turning stage)is established according to the construction drawings.Therefore,the application value of BIM technology not only fails to reflect,but also wastes resources.This paper will study the application of BIM forward design in the design stage of municipal Expressway in three-dimensional environment.This research can reduce the design cycle to the greatest extent,and greatly improve the level and quality of Engineering design.It is of great significance to promote the design technology change in the new era and the application of BIM technology in the whole life cycle of the project.In view of the problems existing in the application of BIM technology in the design stage of municipal expressway,this paper is based on the Bentley softwareintegration thinking and the characteristics of the unified operating environment(MicroStation platform)which is suitable for large-scale infrastructure modeling.Bentley platform is chosen to complete the forward design of municipal Expressway in three-dimensional environment without using two-dimensional CAD drawing files from the sketch design stage to the delivery stage,and BIM model is used to complete the forward design of municipal Expressway in three-dimensional environment.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Study the application status of BIM technology at home and abroad in the design stage of municipal expressway,compare and analyze the characteristics of two-dimensional CAD design and three-dimensional BIM design,and analyze the characteristics of three mainstream software platforms of BIM technology,namely Autodesk,Bentley and Dassult.(2)The structure and working principle of Bentley collaborative design information management platform are analyzed,and a collaborative design management platform is established to optimize the multi-professional collaborative design management process of municipal expressway.(3)The BIM three-dimensional geological model is established,and the traditional geological exploration data are converted from text description and two-dimensional soil profile into three-dimensional visualization model.(4)According to the content of model labeling,the MicroStation software is redeveloped.(5)The feasibility and practicability of BIM forward design to solve problems related to municipal expressway design stage are verified by case project design modeling.By comparing Bentley-based forward three-dimensional design with traditional two-dimensional design,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)By analyzing the characteristics of three main BIM software platforms,Autodesk,Bentley and Dassult,and combining with the characteristics of municipal Expressway design,suchas many disciplines,tight construction cycle,wide area and large model volume,it is concluded that Bentley software platform has more applicability to municipal Expressway design.(2)Compared with the traditional two-dimensional design collaborative management,the Bentley collaborative design management platform is safer and more convenient for project data management,which makes the communication between professionals more convenient and flexible.(3)Compared with the traditional geological exploration data,by using the geological model tool based on Bentley software,the geological borehole data and corresponding geological information data of the project area are managed and the geological information model is established.It can display the geological environment and rock formation more intuitively in front of the designers,effectively promote the understanding and communication between designers and constructors,facilitate the design and construction of the project,and avoid the potential risks of the project to the greatest extent.(4)By using Bentley software and computer technology,according to the design specifications,using MicroStation software as the development platform,calling the application program interface(API)of the software,and using VBA language for secondary development,the work efficiency of model coordinate labeling can be effectively improved.(5)Through the case study of municipal expressway design project,it shows that this study can improve the quality and efficiency of municipal Expressway design,thereby reducing the repetition of design and construction and waste of resources.
