As a kind of educational organization,the academy originated from the folk private lectures.It began in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song Dynasty and decline in the late of Qing Dynasty.The academy is mostly founded by local prestigious people,and its architectural originate from the local residential system.In the development of Chinese academies,the Zhejiang region has always occupied an important position.The northern Zhejiang area is located in the Hangjiahu Plain.It is a unique gathering place of Wuyue culture.It has unique natural conditions and provides a good soil for the rise and development of the academy.This article takes "regional cultural circle" as the starting point,and takes the ancient academy of northern Zhejiang after the Qing Dynasty as the research object.First of all,from the perspective of architecture,sociology and human geography,choose Wuyue culture circle with Wu language to research the ancient academy buildings in the north of Zhejiang Province,based on the analysis of the development and pedigree of the folk house in the Wuyue Cultural Circle,combining the historical and regional elements to create a time-space concept of "diachronism" and "isochronism" to explore the origin of the ancient academies in northern Zhejiang Province.Secondly,from the middle level,to analyze the development track and geographical distribution of the ancient academies in northern Zhejiang province.Finally,from the micro level,the material aspects of the ancient academy construction in northern Zhejiang Province were first explored,including the space construction of the academy building ? the single construction of the building and the construction practice of the academy,then analyzes the cultural connotation of the ancient academy in northern Zhejiang Province,that is the non-material aspects including the environmental view of the academy,the concept of construction,the view of humanities and the value orientation,thus summarizing the regional characteristics and hiding of the ancient academies's cultural connotation.Specifically,this article firstly combines the historical and regional factors to explain the entire large-area residential system in the Wuyue Cultural Circle in the north of Zhejiang Province,and explores the development of ancient academies in northern Zhejiang Province.Secondly,to analyze the ancient academies in northern Zhejiang including the development trajectory,geographical distribution and types,and analysis of the building entities of the existing seven academies,including the construction of the building space and the construction of the building;combined with the ancient books "The Ministry of Industry Engineering Practices","The Law of The Ancient Building",to analyze the woodwork,claywork and stonework of the academies.On the basis of the previous analysis of the material level of the academies,.Finally,as the non-material level,to analyze the cultural connotation of the building construction in the north of Zhejiang Province,thus summarizing the regional characteristics of the ancient academy of northern Zhejiang Province and the ancient academies's cultural connotation.
