As one of the most important Mongolian tribes, the Chahar Tribe still uses traditional Mongolian ritual objects, whose design and features can be applied in the design of ethnic products. This essay takes the Chahar Tribe as an example and explored measures to utilize the design of Mongolian ritual objects in the design of modern ethic products. This essay started with a study and classification of the design features of Mongolian ritual objects, which are then deconstructed to abstract design elements that can be integrated in the design of modern ethnic objects using modern design measures.A design practice was conducted on ethic products using form application meathod, which is a new method and a combination of the Scandinavian style of design and the “Less is More” principle promoted by Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe.Through the above design practice,2 design cases listed in the essay were achieved, namely the Exterior Design of Domestic Charcoal Stove and the Design of Family Lunchbox.By applying the forms and designs of ritual objects of the Chahar Tribe to Mongolian products and thus exploring new designs in this category, the author preserves and innovates the aesthetic design of ethnic products and makes the products a part of people's everyday life.
