Schizophrenia is a kind of serious mental illnesses and its pathological mechanisms has not been well documented.The diagnosis of schizophrenia is often based on subjective judgment and it lacks of objective diagnostic index,which may lead to misdiagnosis of schizophrenia.It causes immense mental and financial burdens on patients and their families.Therefore,the searching of objective diagnostic index of schizophrenia has become an important issue in the field of medicine.As a new development field of medical electronics,wearable medical devices have been widely used in many fields,such as chronic disease management and disease monitoring.Using wearable medical devices to monitor users' health information,users can learn their own health condition in a real-time.Doctors can conduct remote diagnosis and treatment based on the monitoring results.A preventive intervention and early warning system can help to protect our health from chronic diseases and critical diseases;and thus it can save medical costs effectively.In this paper,we designed a wearable ECG and EEG device for the computer aided diagnosis system for schizophrenia patients.The device is used to improve the existing problems of traditional ECG and EEG acquisition devices.Such devices are relatively bulky and cumbersome,and cannot working in a long time and continuously.The wearable ECG and EEG device is designed based on the integrated analog front-end chips,such as ADS1293 and ADS1299.The integrated analog front-end chip uses 24-bit sigma-delta ADC to convert ECG and EEG signals.The wireless module uses low power consumption Bluetooth 4.0 module for data transmission.Combined with low-power controller MSP430FR5739 and power management module for low-power system design,the device has the characteristics of small size,low power consumption,high accuracy,and high-precision acquisition of ECG and EEG signals.We also designed a portable and comfortable wearable vest for ECG detection.We collected ECG signals in different daily activities,and the ECG waveforms can be displayed in real-time with high reliability and accuracy.The accuracy and low noise characteristics of the EEG detection were verified by internal square wave test and device noise test.The test results showed that the device noise is less than 1?V,which is suitable for the detection of EEG.The wearable ECG and EEG device can be a new type of monitoring equipment for the clinical trial design,clinical trial data analysis,machine learning algorithm development in the study of the computer aided diagnosis system for schizophrenia patients.
