The Tibetan-Yi Corridor located at the canyon of Hengduan Mountains is one of the most important cultural routes taking the source of ancient Chinese civilization as the starting point. The natural valley form of the Tibetan-Yi Corridor region has made it an important channel for the migration and exchange of many ethnic groups in the southwest and northwest of China since ancient times, especially the main activity areas of the Di-Qiang people in China. Therefore, the area has become a rich historical and cultural belt,in which the ethnic culture has unusually distinctive diversity, speciality, and complexity. The original culture is basically remained intact due to the remote location and lack of transportation, most of which have a significant research value honored as the “cultural living fossil”.However, under the background of fierce changes in modern society and under the influence of the strong Han culture,Tibetan culture and even Western culture on the humanities of the Tibetan-Yi Corridor, the ethnic traditional architectural culture in the region is increasingly in a weak situation. It is more and more important to analyze the roots of national architectural culture and analyze the cultural performance of national architecture. The process of the migration of the Di-Qiang people from the Gansu-Qinghai Plateau to the Tibetan-Yi Corridor region is a complex process of “homogeneity-differentiation-fusion” of the nation.Due to the homogeneity of the Di-Qiang people and the similar natural living environment, these ethnic groups have similar primitive cultural spiritual beliefs and traditional living customs. In the national architecture, there are many symbiotic cultural substratums,it can be called a “cultural prototype” of the building. All above has become a particular symbol of cultural identity for nationalities living here.Cultural matrix is symbiotic, but influenced by various conditions, the development and dissemination of culture will not be balanced, therefore, there are differences in the performance of the Di-Qiang people.Based on a large amount of literature and extensive fieldwork, this article first sorts out and outlines the process of the formation of the Di-Qiang people and the current architectural features in the Tibetan-Yi Corridor, and then focuses on the research and synthesis of the four important symbiotic architectural cultural matrices in the “Firepit,Center Pillar,White stone,Watchtower” in the Tibetan-Yi Corridor region.Based on the unique historical and cultural characteristics of the region, this study proposes the research ideas of the Di-Qiang people architectural prototype based on the “homology of cultural prototype”.Firstly, trace the origins of the “culture prototype” and “architecture prototype” in the four architectural cultures of “Firepit,Center Pillar,White stone,Watchtower”.Then analyze the architectural space and technology under the influence of four cultures, that is,from the two necessary angles of satisfying the cultural psychological needs and the construction of technical logic, sort out several archetypes of architectural culture. And study the differences in the performance of the same cultural matrix in different ethnic groups and regions in the process of cultural communication, then reveal the reasons for these different developments.Combining the history of the development of Di-Qiang people divisions and the exchanges with neighboring civilizations,it has established the development process of "homologous isomerism" in the generation and derivation of cultural prototypes. The research of regional ethnic architecture with the “corridor” and “ethnic group” as the starting point enriches the study of architectural anthropology in Southwest China.
