Design Research Of Proton Treatment Facility Based On Service Design

Radiotherapy is an type of cancer treatment,as for Intensity-modulated proton therapy(IMPT),it costs higher than former due to higher quality and new treatment offering.However,the domestic cancer hospitals are mostly concerned about the treatment itself and less concerned the patient service that provide by the facility,especially for cancer patient,the simple treatment is not enough,this particular group also need positive psychological encouragement to establish confidence in the journey of fighting with cancer during the treatment,helping patient have better treat mentality and better recovery after healing to normal life.In this paper,the design research of proton therapy facility and service blueprint model apply the service design methods and tools,obeying the patient-centered principle of the service design to propose the IMPT facility concept and facility service blueprint model.Firstly,this research summarize the possible problem from the literature review,analyzing the each touch-points that facility provide and the interaction between different stakeholders in whole process;secondly,probing the patient behavior?potential behavior?mood and the interaction of psychological reaction between patient and physical evidence or facility and environment through the design ethnography in field research.Meanwhile,learning the treatment problem from in-depth interview with doctor and technician in multi-angle and depicting the radiation therapy flow chart from qualitative data;thirdly,company with expert doctor to design the questionnaire for patient,and organize the typical patient focus group for the ideal treatment insight collection through patient in storytelling;finally,analyze the quantitative data from patient questionnaire,sum up the patient preference for the problem,combine with the field research information obtained by different stakeholders and radiation center facility,it summarize the design elements of facility and IMPT treatment service strategy,according to these definitions to make the facility design practice.This study apply the service design method into the IMPT facility design,from the holistic perspective,understanding the relationship between different stakeholders,not only to focus on treatment itself,but also pay attention to the patient psychological requirements,then provide the facility service concept from increasing the patient's overall treatment experience.
