Research On The Design Method Of Old Cityreconstruction

As a carrier of human lives and activities,the development of city is a continuously metabolic process with renovation and transformation from born to now.As the testimony of urban development,old cityhas rich tradition and regional cultures,whose existence and development is a inheritance of urban.However,with the development of civilization and social progress,old city can not meet the needs of people's lives,and has produced many kinds of problems.Old urban areas can not meet the needs of urban residents and should be transformed.This thesis is starting from this background,first of all,the author reviewed the reformation process of old cities at home and abroad and related several classic casesabout urban regeneration.By summarizing the development process and experiences of domestic and overseas,the thesis provides a theoretical and practical reference for theresearch.Secondly,on the basis of theoretical analysis and experience summary,the problems of old cities in urban development are discussed from integrity,heritage,continuity,features and so on.Finally,starting from actual cases,the author aims at the specific transformation designof South Gate District of Changchun City and bases on the development process of reconstruction and the collation of data in this area.This thesis analyzes the obvious problems which restricting the development of the old city and discusses the advantageous resources whicht can be preserved and developed.What`s more,the author tries to propose some rational solutions in aspects of infrastructure,space system,transportation,architecture and culturallife.
