With the rapid development of economic and social progress,China's construction industry has entered the period of high levels of large-scale construction,while mechanical and electrical engineering as an important part of construction engineering,the corresponding pipeline design and installation requirements are also higher and higher.On the one hand,mechanical and electrical engineering is the lifeblood of the city,it provides people with water,electricity,heating,communication,etc.Therefore,it plays an important role in People's Daily life.On the other hand,mechanical and electrical engineering has its unique characteristics,such as various systems,complicated pipelines,numerous equipment,and strong concealment,etc,to some extent,this puts forward higher requirements for the design,construction and operation of mechanical and electrical engineering.Now,mechanical and electrical engineering of in the process of pipeline design,due to the independent among professions,lack of effective information exchange and sharing,cause professional design crossover phenomenon is relatively common,repeated larger workload,work efficiency is low,and in the later construction engineering,the construction of rework,construction costs increase,construction delay etc.BIM(Building Information Modeling BIM)technology can be said for the second Information revolution in the construction industry,it provides a new model of work for different stages of the construction industry,Using BIM technology to design,construct and operate the various stages of the engineering,so that achieve the integration and information,provides the various project participants with a collaborative and information exchange platform for the work,the work efficiency improved,lowered engineering cost,time shortened.Therefore,to solve the limitations of the traditional technology in the mechanical and electrical engineering,introducing the BIM technology into the mechanical and electrical engineering application,and study its concrete application in the design and construction stages and bring the value of it is very necessary and important.This paper mainly studies the concrete application of BIM technology in the design and construction of mechanical and electrical engineering.Firstly,this paper expounds the background of the application of BIM technology in mechanical and electrical engineering at home and abroad as well as relevant theories of BIM technology.Secondly,analyzes the current status of characteristics of the mechanical and electrical engineering and installation management problems,and expounds the life cycle application of the BIM technology in mechanical and electrical engineering,analyze the advantages it brings to the project and the challenges that BIM promotes;Then,the model construction and optimization process and method based on BIM technology were proposed,and the concept of BIM-4D and the construction method of BIM-4D and BIM-4D-VR model were proposed.Finally,combining with the subway and housing mechanical and electrical engineering two concrete actual cases,build each major BIM model,Once the model is built,import Autodesk Navisworks Manage software platform for model integration and collision detection,collision point is optimized and adjusted according to the pipeline optimization principle,to complete the integrated pipeline design,get the mechanical and electrical integrated pipeline configuration,verified the feasibility of BIM technology in mechanical and electrical pipeline engineering design;Using the optimized BIM model for 3D visualization technical clarification,extraction of quantities,construction schedule simulation and 3D laser scanner combined with application,verify the feasibility of BIM technology in mechanical and electrical engineering construction.In this paper,the results of research will be helpful to improve the efficiency of mechanical and electrical pipeline design,and is beneficial to improve the level of construction technology and management level,and improve the current mechanical and electrical engineering bad situation that installation construction period delay,low quality,low benefit and uncoordinated problems.
