In the context of the promotion of BIM technology by the state and the construction industry,BIM technology is increasingly used in various stages,but in the architectural design stage,the BIM design model implemented by the whole industry is not passed to other stages in the form of BIM models.Therefore,in order to realize BIM forward design,solve the large and complex volume engineering design problem,realize a lot of time saving in the design phase,effectively improve the progress and efficiency of such projects,control the cost,reduce the risk and in the complex structure and building and other professional issues,this paper studies the BIM forward design in different stages of the whole process.The main contents and conclusions of the study are as follows.(1)The concept of BIM technology and BIM forward design is studied,BIM forward design theory and BIM parametric design theory are analyzed to provide the theoretical basis for BIM forward design research and the application of relevant BIM forward design software.(2)In the conceptual scheme design stage of BIM forward design,the methods of tilt photography of UAV,semantic segmentation post-processing,establishment of 3D realistic model,site analysis and comparison,layout and comparison of plant room pipeline,etc.are analyzed and applied to improve the decision making in the engineering design scheme stage and provide accurate model data basis for the subsequent design stage.(3)In the preliminary design stage of BIM forward design,analyze and adopt methods such as green building analysis,parametric design for visual programming to improve modeling efficiency and accuracy,collaborative design to realize collaborative and cooperative design of the whole profession,and model refinement in the program stage to frontload the construction drawing stage of traditional engineering design,realize collaborative design,judge design problems in advance,reduce construction change costs,and realize sustainable green building.(4)In the construction drawing stage of BIM forward design,the preliminary design model results are analyzed and deepened,and the detailed comprehensive arrangement and collision check of mechanical and electrical pipelines are carried out to meet the building comfort,and the final construction drawing results are deepened by design model animation simulation,and VR simulation and collaboration,etc.,so that the BIM forward design results are digitalized,and BIM forward design is of great significance to the digital informationization of design results.(5)Finally,through the actual public building project design example,the BIM forward design application is realized in the whole design cycle of parametric rapid modeling,drone application,collision check,3D visualization design and digital delivery of design results,which verifies the feasibility and applicability of BIM forward design in engineering design,economy,etc.This paper summarizes and analyzes the application method method of BIM forward design in the whole design cycle of engineering,enriches the theory related to BIM forward design and parameterization,and discusses the related BIM forward design research outlook,which provides a guarantee for applying BIM forward design technology in engineering design to solve related design problems.
