Risk Assessment And Strategy Choice Of "Going Global" For China’s High-speed Railway

Abstract/Summary:
In recent ten years,China’s high-speed railway had rapid development.It not only achieved 25,000 kilometers of domestic mileage by the end of 2017,but also became an inevitable trend to go global,which was driven by "One Belt and One Road" strategy.For now,overseas development of China’s high-speed railway is still in its early stage.Many companies blindly follow the trend,which makes them run into a wall with little success.The purpose of this paper is to assist Chinese enterprises in assessing regional risks of "going global" for China’s high-speed railways and to provide targeted Chinese high-speed rail output strategies.First of all,this article reviews the history of the development of China’s high-speed rail so as to understand how the high-speed rail industry can achieve leapfrog development in China and pave the way for the study of "going global" for China’s high-speed railway.After analyzing the strategic significance and background of the "going out" of the high-speed railway,the reasons for the "going global" of China’s high-speed railway are clarified.Second,I identify possible risks in Europe,Asia,Latin America and Africa.In addition,the risk of four regions is quantitatively analyzed by expert scoring method,AHP and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method,and the risk indicators and comprehensive risk indicators of the four regions in different aspects are obtained.Finally,combined with the advantages and disadvantages of China’s high-speed rail and the risks of the export areas analyzed in the previous analysis,the paper gives strategic suggestions on the high-speed rail output of Chinese enterprises by using SWOT analysis and SCP analysis.The analysis shows that Chinese enterprises need to realize the intensified market competition,the need for business integration or business expansion,and the long-term advantages established by internationally renowned brands,as well as the adjustment of market behavior so as to enhance overseas performance in the medium and long term.
